I am Judea’s grandmother – and I am also one of his backup caregivers. Because I had never before experienced anything like what has happened to my grandson, and because I know there are other parents and grandparents who may be coping with a baby or toddler accidental brain injury, I decided to start this blog. To share my experience, my strength, and my hope for the future.
This journey has been one of the most difficult of my life, and also one of the most rewarding. Would I have chosen this accident to happen to my grandson? God, no. Did I choose to be there for this baby, this little boy, whose life, in an instant, changed course forever? Yes, I did.
Love and faith are powerful tools. I’m going to share this journey with you in hopes that it may offer solace, or peace, or just information on what you may now be experiencing, or what may lie ahead if your child has survived a severe, permanent, irreversible brain injury.
